The Federal Employment Law Training Group is dedicated to providing employment law training for the federal government community. FELTG’s comprehensive educational seminars cover a wide range of employment law and federal personnel law issues including EEOC and MSPB precedent and procedures, labor relations and FLRA law, ADA updates, whistleblower retaliation claims, administrative litigation techniques, FMLA and arbitration.

FELTG’s principal instructors are practicing attorneys in the area of federal employment law. Each has over 25 years of experience in the field, and all have represented both employees and agencies in hearings and appeals before EEOC, MSPB, FLRA and in arbitrations.

In addition to these semi-annual open-enrollment seminars offered in Washington, D.C. and new San Francisco summer and winter sessions, custom on-site training is available in all employment law subjects, including training for supervisors and managers on best personnel practices in the workplace.

FLRA Law Week -- now taking registrations!
April 23 - 27, 2012

This session covers labor relations, unfair labor practices, organization of the Federal Labor Relations Authority, and negotiation techniques. This new offering covers all the basics of labor arbitration, including a brief history and a live demonstration of arbitration. Speakers include William Wiley and Peter Broida.

Absence & Medical Issues Week
June 4 - 8, 2012

The newest addition to FELTG’s curriculum, this week brings together everything involving one of the most complex areas of federal sector employment law: absences from the workplace. Topics include employee leave, leave abuse, and medical issues as they relate to unacceptable performance and conduct, sick leave, annual leave, leave without pay, absence without leave, FMLA, ADA, OWCP, flexiplace-this week has it all. Legal Writing Week
June 18 - 22, 2012

This expansion of our newest and most popular course now offers three days of training, starting off with the fundamentals of good legal writing and building on those skills with sessions on drafting specific documents for the MSPB and EEOC, present by the experts, Ernest Hadley and William Wiley. This training series covers topics such as legal writing compared to other writing, IRAC technique, writing from the readers’ perspective, organizational logic, citation formats, legal precedent and research.
